A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found shot to death along the Santa Ana riverbed.
On July 11, Santa Ana police responded to reports of a man down near 2100 W. 17th Street shortly after midnight.
Police discovered the victim, Elvis Alfonso Mojica Delgado, 28, lying unresponsive on the bicycle path of the riverbed. He had a fatal gunshot wound to his upper torso.
The suspect had fled the scene before officers arrived. The circumstances surrounding Delgado’s death remain under investigation.
No suspect description was provided. Homicide detectives are searching for witnesses.
