A nursing facility worker was arrested for the alleged identity theft and financial abuse of elderly patients in Glendale. 

The suspect was identified as Jesus Cain Medina Leyva, 28, according to the Glendale Police Department.

On Aug. 28, an elderly patient reported to the police that her credit cards had been stolen from her room at the nursing facility located on the 400 block of East Cypress Street.

Following a two-month investigation, detectives discovered Leyva had allegedly been stealing credit cards from patients’ rooms and using them at various stores and restaurants.

At least six additional victims from the same facility were targeted, police said.

On Oct. 17, Leyva was taken into custody. He was charged with seven counts of identity theft and elder financial abuse.
