The investigation into a fatal collision involving a pedestrian on the 101 Freeway in the East Hollywood area left multiple northbound lanes closed during the morning commute Tuesday.
The crash was reported on the freeway near Vermont Avenue around 6 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol confirmed they were investigating a fatality involving a pedestrian on the freeway and that all northbound lanes were initially closed due to the crash.

There was no immediate word on whether the pedestrian was a motorist who exited a vehicle or if the person was walking on the freeway for other reasons.
A SigAlert was issued at 6:38 a.m. for the ongoing closures of the number one and two lanes, according to the CHP.
The shutdown was expected to remain in place until about 8 a.m. but officials extended the SigAlert at 8:15 a.m.
All northbound lanes were finally reopened to motorists, the CHP announced on X, formerly Twitter, at 10:46 a.m.
