The Los Angeles Police Department investigated a suspicious vehicle in the Fairfax District on Tuesday for nearly three hours before confirming it presented no danger to the public.

The vehicle was reported at about 9:30 a.m., and the bomb squad was on scene to assist.

Aerial footage from Sky5 showed a gray SUV parked on the sidewalk alongside La Brea Avenue near the intersection with Beverly Boulevard. Its trunk and all but one of its doors were open.

After police searched the vehicle and determined it to be harmless, evacuation orders and street closures in the area were lifted.

Nidia Becerra and Sofia Pop Perez contributed to this report.
