A few dozen police officers swarmed a driver after a pursuit ended in a short standoff alongside the 90 Freeway near Marina del Rey Friday morning.

The LAPD said the pursuit began at 10:10 a.m. at Franklin and Highland avenues in Hollywood, and the male driver of the white Ford Mustang was wanted for alleged domestic violence.

Until shortly before 11 a.m., the driver was speeding on area freeways, at times topping 100 mph, though he eventually pulled over alongside the 90 Freeway near Marina del Rey.

At that point, numerous police cars surrounded the Mustang and a standoff began.

At about 11:05 a.m., a few dozen officers swarmed the car and pulled out the driver and a passenger, who appears to be a woman. Her relationship with the driver has not been detailed.

All lanes of the roadway were closed for the standoff.
