A suspect was booked on several felony charges after a pursuit through multiple San Bernardino County communities, but not before he went to his girlfriend’s house to kiss her goodbye.

According to the Upland Police Department, officers located a Chevy Tahoe that was wanted for felony evading by authorities in West Covina around 1 a.m. Tuesday.

The exact location of where the vehicle was spotted in Upland was not disclosed.

As the officers went behind the Tahoe, the male driver fled “before [the police] lights even went on,” Upland police said in a post to X

“Officers pursued the Tahoe into Rancho Cucamonga where the driver abruptly stopped in the middle of the street,” the post read. “The driver’s girlfriend then exited a nearby home, ran up to the vehicle and gave him a farewell kiss.”

The driver then surrendered and was taken into custody. Police then found that he was on parole for assault with a deadly weapon.

A loaded gun was also located inside the vehicle, and he was booked on several felony charges, police said.
