An investigation is underway after a deputy with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office was arrested for alleged vehicle theft.

The deputy was identified as Dakota Robson, 25. On Oct. 9, an investigation was launched by the department after receiving information that Robson was allegedly in possession of a stolen car.

Following an investigation, Robson was arrested in Lake Elsinore on one count of vehicle theft, one count of possession of a stolen vehicle and one count of unauthorized computer access.

Robson has been with the sheriff’s department since June 2023 and was most recently assigned to the Southwest Sheriff’s Station. 

Officials did not provide more details on the alleged theft, but confirmed he was placed on paid administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
