A massive downpour flooded streets in Riverside, leaving several motorists stranded and closing a major street Thursday.

Video recorded around 10 p.m. at Market Street near the 60 Freeway onramp showed multiple vehicles stranded in what looked like a small lake.

The water was deep enough to nearly cover the license plate of one car that was left unable to move.

Riverside police officers ended up closing the street in both directions until the water subsided.
