Employees of the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System are concerned that a manager’s killing last month at his Rancho Cucamonga home could have been workplace-related violence.
Joshua Watson, who was killed by a male assailant at his home in the 13100 block of Joliet Drive on Nov. 25, was a supervisor at the medical center and “may have been involved in a dispute with a former employee,” the Press-Enterprise reports.
The exact nature of that alleged dispute has not been made public, and while hospital officials have mourned the loss of Watson, 43, as a person and as the facility’s chief supply chain officer, further details have been kept hidden to protect the ongoing investigation.
There is no current threat to VA Loma Linda or its employees, officials said. though additional security is on site.
Employees, however, are ill at ease.
“It’s a scary place to work,” one employee told the newspaper.
