An early-morning water main break in Hollywood closed a thoroughfare and left multiple customers without service on Tuesday.
According to Bowen Xie, spokesperson for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, the break in the 6700 block of West Lexington Avenue was reported just after 4 a.m.
The gushing water flowed onto nearby Highland Avenue, where repair crews and first responders could be seen closing down that intersection of the busy street.
Xie said the 8-inch cast iron main’s failure resulted in a lack of water service to 16 customers, and there’s no timetable for when service will be restored.
