Fire officials are battling a small wildfire near Palmdale on Tuesday.

The Allen Fire was reported just before 11 a.m. east of Palmdale, the Angeles National Forest said on social media.

The blaze, initially just 1 acre in size, threatened structures near Largo Vista Road south of State Route 138.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department is in command, with the ANF assisting.

The county Fire Department told KTLA that after about an hour, the blaze was 4 acres in size.

As of about 2:30 p.m., the fire was holding at 4.9 acres, fire officials said in an update.

Structures remain threatened by fire, but none have burned yet, the department added.
