The Paris Olympics ended this weekend, meaning Los Angeles is now on the clock in preparation for the 2028 Games.
Mayor Karen Bass has promised a car-free Olympics, with attendees using public transit, though the uptick in violence on Metro vehicles and at Metro stations could present a problem.
In addition, to meet the demand from crowds of visitors, L.A. will have to borrow buses from neighboring local governments.
The L.A. Games will also include five sports that were not featured in Paris: baseball and softball, cricket, squash, lacrosse and flag football.
Some of those sports, however, will be played elsewhere. For instance, softball will be held in Oklahoma City.
