Disneyland is preparing to celebrate 70 years of magical experiences with a summer celebration complete with a new nighttime spectacular, merchandise, food, décor and more.
The Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration will honor “seven decades of happiness and many moments of joy in the making,” the resort announced on Thursday. The event kicks off on May 16, 2025, and will run throughout summer 2026.
Here’s what guests can expect during the 70th Celebration:
Guests can “celebrate happy” with limited-time entertainment, such as an all-new nighttime spectacular, “World of Color Happiness!” in Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim, Calif. The show is inspired by Walt Disney’s words from the opening day park dedication from seven decades ago: “To all who come to this happy place…welcome!” (Artist Concept/Disneyland Resort) 
Guests can “celebrate happy” with limited-time entertainment, such as the return of the “Wondrous Journeys” nighttime spectacular, which features nods to Walt Disney Animation Studios films created over the past century at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, Calif. Fan-favorite entertainment, such as the “Paint the Night” parade and “Wondrous Journeys,” will return to Disneyland, while the “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” parade and the brand-new “World of Color Happiness!” will (be at Disney California Adventure. (Disneyland Resort) 
The first-ever Walt Disney audio-animatronic is coming to Disneyland. “Walt Disney: A Magical Life” will debut in 2025 inside the Main Street Opera House in rotation with “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.” (Disney Parks)

Live entertainment
Fan-favorite entertainment, such as the “Paint the Night” parade and “Wondrous Journeys,” will return to Disneyland, while the “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!” parade and the brand-new “World of Color Happiness!” will be at Disney California Adventure.
The brand-new show, “World of Color Happiness!” will explore happiness through a kaleidoscope of emotions, hosted by Joy and the other emotions from Pixar Animation Studios films, “Inside Out” and “Inside Out 2.”
“Along the way, the emotions manifest music and moments from favorite Walt Disney Animation Studios’ and Pixar Animation Studios’ stories, including ‘Turning Red,’ ‘A Goofy Movie,’ ‘Tangled,’ ‘The Lion King’ and so many more,” a news release said.
Signature fountains, dynamic lighting, colorful lasers, fog and dramatic flame effects, painting musical memories will light up Paradise Bay during the show.
During the evenings at DCA, the exterior of Carthay Circle Restaurant will invite everyone to “celebrate happy” during a special moment filled with music, lights and projection effects.
Back at Disneyland, a new character cavalcade, “Mickey and Friends Celebrate Happy!” will debut, as will a new projection show on the facade of “It’s a Small World.”
‘Walt Disney – A Magical Life’
A Walt Disney audio-animatronic will be coming to the Main Street Opera House as part of the new “Walt Disney: A Magical Life” experience, which will open on May 16. The show will rotate with the existing “Great Conversations with Mr. Lincoln.”
Décor
New 70th anniversary décor will dawn the entire resort, including Sleeping Beauty’s castle, which will have an elegant medallion to mark the occasion.
Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and the rest of the gang will also wear new custom outfits for the anniversary celebration.
The resort teased that more details about the 70th celebration will be released in the coming months.
