Six Flags Magic Mountain will add to its expansive roller coaster line-up with the debut of a new “first of its kind” coaster in 2026.

Magic Mountain currently has 20 roller coasters, more than any other theme park worldwide.

The new coaster for the amusement park is part of Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, Magic Mountain’s parent company, $1 billion investment to enhance the guest experience.

“Our capital investment plans for the next two years reinforce our commitment to providing unmatched thrills, immersive entertainment and lifelong memories to guests of all ages,” Six Flags president & CEO Richard A. Zimmerman said in a statement. “The new Six Flags has a unique opportunity to refresh and renew the guest experience, one so compelling that a visit to one of our parks will be viewed as an indispensable choice in family entertainment.”

The $1 billion investment will be used on “new rides, attractions, themed areas, dining upgrades, and technology enhancements,” according to company officials.

Screamscape, a website that shares news, rumors, and updates about upcoming roller coasters and major attractions at amusement parks worldwide, speculates that the new coaster will take over the former Golden Bear Theater location.

Six Flags closed the theater earlier this year and hasn’t announced any news on what will replace it.

Company officials said that more information about the new coaster will be shared at a later date.
